"JACK" is a contemporary dance work that aims to pay tribute to pop music and its influence on the art form of dance. Michael Jackson being one of the greatest entertainers and also known as the "King of Pop" has greatly impacted dance in pop music and culture. Choreographers Micaela G. Taylor, Laura Berg, and Gracie Whyte Coad look to highlight his influence while incorporating their individual creativity as dancers and entertainers.
WHYTEBERG premiers their newest live show "as occurred, as recalled" at the LAX Festival.
In this brand new work, WHYTEBERG explores visceral memories, creating a personal reflection of perception. As the audience moves through various scenes, we see the effect of false memory — how consistently revisited moments become obscured from reality.
WHYTEBERG will present a mash-up of existing work, as well as live performances of upcoming Crumbs and some new dancing surprises!
Unlocking Rooms is an investigation of the intrinsic tension between light and darkness and the seen and unseen. This duet by performer/choreographers Gracie Whyte and Laura Berg blends unique, direct lighting and lush, fluid movement in an attempt to most honestly reveal the layers of an individual. It is a study of movement experience that is at once intimate and removed, vulnerable and protected.
